Coinciding with the birth anniversary of Third Druk Gyalpo, the Ministry has expanded the Bhutan Emergency Aero-medical Services (BEAR) along with the inauguration of a new base of Royal Bhutan Helicopter Service Limited (RBHSL) at Bumthang Domestic Airport.
The Ministry of Health and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed the ‘Minutes of Discussions’ for the preparatory survey towards the construction of the Royal Centre for Infectious Diseases (RCID) today at the Ministry of Health.

Sample collection in Core 2 Mega Zone, Thimphu started today.
To facilitate safe transitioning of Thimphu Thromde from Yellow to Green Zone and to detect any residual cases, community testing started from the South MegaZone today.
To facilitate a safe transition and phase wise re-opening, the Ministry of Health has started conducting mass testing in the identified Red and Yellow zones under Punakha Dzongkhag.
The Ministry of Health promoted 119 officials to the next higher rank with effect from 1st January 2022. The Hon’ble Secretary awarded the Promotion Orders along with Trashi Khadhar and congratulated them on their well-deserved promotions. The recipients were reminded of the importance of working hard, being responsible and accountable for assigned tasks and actions. The MoH family congratulates the officials for their well-deserved promotions.
The Ministry of Health received 12 units of ambulances from the Government of Japan. This support is under Japan’s Grant Aid Economic and Social Development Programme. A virtual handing-taking ceremony took place today at the Ministry of Health.
