Mission:
Implement evidence-informed nutrition interventions by working with relevant agencies and
partners to ensure universal access to effective nutrition actions and to healthy and sustainable
diversified diets.

Goal:
Improve the nutritional status in all population groups; children under five, pregnant and
lactating women, adolescents, adults and the elderly through the implementation of evidence
informed sustainable interventions geared towards reducing the triple burden of malnutrition –
over nutrition, undernutrition and micronutrient deficiencies.

Program Components

1. Life Course Nutrition

  • Promotion of breastfeeding
  • Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF)
  • Growth Monitoring for children under five
  • Adolescent and school nutrition
  • Maternal nutrition
  • Adult and geriatric nutrition
  • Nutrition Rehabilitation

2. Micronutrient supplementation and Food Fortification

  • Vitamin A supplementation
  • Iron Folic Acid Supplementation including deworming
  • Multi-micronutrient supplementation for pregnant women
  • Salt Iodization
  • Rice and oil fortification
  • Point of use fortification with micronutrient powders for children 6-23 months.
