The Ministry of Health received 12 units of ambulances from the Government of Japan. This support is under Japan’s Grant Aid Economic and Social Development Programme. A virtual handing-taking ceremony took place today at the Ministry of Health.
Mr. Shingo MIYAMOTO, Minister of Economic and Development, Embassy of Japan, New Delhi, attended the ceremony virtually. The Hon’ble Health Minister Dasho Dechen Wangmo along with the Chief Representative of JICA Bhutan Office and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Health attended the ceremony at the Ministry of Health.
These ambulances will strengthen the access to timely emergency medical needs saving many preventable and untimely deaths in the country. This is in line with the government’s vision of narrowing the gap and ensuring the equitable distribution of health services.
