Hon. Health Minister with the Technical Advisory Group from MOH met with the Parliamentary Committee on COVID-19 Preparedness and Response earlier today.
Updates on the Preparedness and Response for COVID-19 along with Coordination & Command System, aim and over all response in case of Worst Case Scenarios, Case Management, Surveillance and Quarantine Coordination Protocol, Testing Algorithm for Quarantine, Laboratory Testing & Discharge Algorithm, COVID-19 Case Management Centres, Health HR Mapping, Medical Surge Plan, Quarantine Facility Profile and the details of Contact Tracing were shared in the meeting.
Hon. Sowai Lyonpo also mentioned that the Ministry is recruiting retired doctors, setting priority and possible safety measures for the vulnerable population and getting Desuups, Red Cross Members and the final year students of Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan trained for helping and supporting the Health workers.
Further deliberations were done to clarify on various issues so that the Committee’s support to the Government can be enhanced.
