The 7th clinical orientation and training program was conducted by Emergency Medical Services Division, Department of Medical Services under the Ministry of Health and JDWNRH from 8th to 16th February 2020 at the National Emergency Education Center (NEEC). The objective of the course is to familiarize and orient the freshly graduated health professionals from various institutes and colleges with Bhutanese contexts of practicing emergency medical, trauma and obstetric care.

The 9 days training program was attended by 12 General Duty Medical Officers, 6 General Duty Dental Surgeons, 13 Clinical Nurses, 7 Physiotherapists and 3 Radio technologists. They were taught on the management of common emergencies, trauma and obstetric cases in our country which would help reduce initial mortality and morbidity prior to referral to higher centers. Resource persons and facilitators were senior consultants, specialists, doctors and experienced emergency medical personnel from JDWNRH and KGUMSB.

Upon successful completion of the training, participants and tested with a written examination and awarded certificates of completion by Director General, Department of Medical Services.
