Bhutan Health Trust Fund was established in line with the vision of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, Jigme Singye Wangchuck to make Bhutan self reliant in terms of medicines and vaccines. The dream will be realized on 14th October 2015 with the launch of financing of essential drugs and vaccines to commemorate the Fourth Druk Gyalpo’s 60th Birth Anniversary.

To celebrate and cherish this historic achievement, Bhutan Health Trust Fund in collaboration with the Ministry of Health is organising various events starting from 9th October till 14th October.

The brief of the events are as follows:

9th October 2015: Donors and well wishers will be shown the functioning of Primary Health Care System and discussion on Bhutan’s Health System will take place in Paro.

10th October 2015: Aerial tour of Bhutan to see the geographical terrain and scattered population/settlement. This will give an idea in difficulty and the cost of reaching health services to the population.

11th October 2015: Health Walk from Royal Thimphu College to Clock Tower in Thimphu. The details will be shared in due course of time. The health walk will take place in all the other Dzogkhags as well.

12th October 2015: Bhutan’s Traditional Medicine System will be on display at Lamperi Botanical Park.

13th October 2015: Show the donors the District Health System in Punakha.

14th October 2015: Launch of the Financing of Essential Drugs & Vaccines.
