Her Excellency Dasho Dechen Wangmo during her visit to Lhuntse Dzongkhag, met with the staffs of Lhuntse Hospital, members of the Lhuntse Dzongkhag COVID-19 Taskforce and then visited the Dungkar Primary Health Center to meet with the community who had come to avail the services of the Pap Smear Camp.

The Pap Smear Camp which is initiated under the Health Flagship Project with one of the main objectives to eliminate the Cervical cancer has completed the screening camp in 4 districts (Paro, Bumthang, Mongar and Punakha) and also plans to conduct the same screening camp across the country leaving no one at risk to cervical cancer.

Currently, around 150 women has been screened for cervical cancer at the Dungkar PHC from 10th to 11th March 2021 covering 7 Chiwogs. Furthermore, the breast examination for early detection of breast cancer has also been a part of the screening camp.

Hence, the Ministry of Health would like to request the public to make the best use of the services when the screening camps are initiated in your respective dzongkhags.
